Seashore Symphony, black skimmers on the sand at Anna Maria Island, by Lynn Tran

From Quick Download to Frame

What to do after a digital art download? Here is the whole process, from email to wall.

1. Open the zip

Your download arrives as one zip file. On a computer, double-click it. On a phone, open it in the Files app. Inside, you will find your size as a JPG and a print-ready PDF, plus Your Print Guide.

Save the folder somewhere you will find it again. You may want another print next year.

2. Choose where to print

At home. The 8 × 10 and A4 sizes fit most home photo printers. Use matte photo paper and set the printer to its best photo quality. Print the PDF at actual size, not "fit to page."

At a photo lab. For anything bigger, a local photo lab or an online print shop does it well, and many local labs print the same day. Upload the JPG and order the same size as the file. Choose matte or luster paper. If the order screen offers cropping, turn it off. The file is already the right shape.

3. Frame it

Buy a ready-made frame in the same size as your print. Every file has a soft paper border that works like a mat, so you don't need to buy one. Wipe the glass, slide the print in, close the back.

4. Hang it

Hold it up first. Have someone stand across the room and tell you left or right. Then mark the spot, set the nail, and step back.

Not sure the size will fit the wall? Find Your Size walks you through it before you buy. If you would rather skip the errands and have it arrive ready to hang, see framed prints and canvas prints.

A note on where it hangs

A download is for your own home, and you may print it as often as you need. For a rental, an office, or a cafe, the Business Display License covers it.

Start with Seashore Symphony, or any painting from the studio. Then sit down and look at it for a while. That part matters too.
